"If shit gets weird, just walk away...just walk away"

Hello world!!!
I finally, after two weeks, have some sort of slightly stable internet connection. So now I can finally share some of my Irish adventures.
First of all when I arrived, I had far too much baggage for one average human being to carry. Im talking about one huge rolling duffle, another huge broken rolling duffle, a very large backpack and my ukulele. And somehow I managed to lug all of that up a hill to get to my sister's apartment in Dun Laogharie. I stayed with her and Damien for the first week, while I looked after Tito and Gina (my wonderfully french nephew and niece).
Then after I moved my mountain of luggage to Trinity housing, we all galavanted off to Waterford and Dunmore East for the weekend. Sarah's friends Jack and Daria were headlining a bluegrass festival there, so I got the pleasure of being a weekend roadie. That weekend I learned to put a little more faith in Irish stereotypes (mainly the ones about being a drunkard) Irish people go crazy, and I am not just talking about the 18 year olds, I mean the women in their 40s and the old men too. Needless to say the weekend was fun and full of good tunes. And I received the most influential advice in my entire life. Tom, the amazingly talented banjo player, told me upon our goodbye, "Maura, if shit gets weird,  just walk away...just walk away." I don't really know where that came from, but if shit does get weird Tom, I will certainly walk as far away as I can!
On Sunday night I had my first meeting for the Summer Startup Programme (SSP) at Trinity. And there was a delightful surprise of white wine waiting for us. (Apparently we were the first group to drink all the wine and eat all the pizza... I see this as a good omen.) Anyway, I have been having lectures about Irish things all week and exploring Trinities campus. Which, I may add is the most beautiful college campus I have ever seen, anywhere, including all of those Harvard fools. This whole week has been gorgeous, sunshiny and in the upper 60s. I don't think I could have asked for better weather.
Anyway, thats all I have time for now. I'll upload pictured from Trinity soon =]
